DRAW LIKE DOG MAN AND MY LITTLE PONY

 Back when I was a younger-adult…

…I worked in childcare. Frequently, kids that came into the room would ask for drawings of their favorite animal. I was already accustomed to realism, but I wanted to be able to draw something quickly to satisfy my dozens of tiny customers, and so I flipped through countless art books, learning to find an appealing-but-easy-to-achieve art style. Thanks to my target audience at the time, I was left with drawings that look like these:

HOW IT WORKS

As you can clearly see, a lot of what I specialize in revolves around creating obnoxiously-expressive characters.

I’ve noticed that in school, your kids are taught how to use different art mediums, learn some art history, and practice realism. However, one thing they never teach your kids is cartooning — CREATING CHARACTERS AND TELLING STORIES.

And that’s strange to me, because your kids will naturally gravitate towards creating comics and stories, and building on that will really help them to develop their own style (and that’s what art is all about).

During COVID-19, I place a much greater emphasis on DIGITAL ART than on traditional.

Your kids will learn how to create characters with personality, covering topics like PERSPECTIVE and ANATOMY and COLOR THEORY and PSYCHOLOGY in the process.

They’ll also learn about digital-specific topics, including WORKING IN LAYERS and BRUSH CREATION and even a little ANIMATION.
