A DIFFERENT WAY TO PIANO

That’s right, piano’s a verb now.

Is some good coming from zoom lessons?

“Piano lessons” have needed a kick in the tooshie for a while now. I mean, do you know how often I hear about previous teachers STILL smacking your kids’ hands with rulers? Or generally REDUCING STUDENTS TO TEARS for missing a few notes?

It’s 2020 and that’s just ridiculous.

Me?

I’m always looking for new ways to help your kids learn and FIND PASSION in music. What I teach them exactly depends a lot on what they want to get out of piano lessons, but usually includes:

~How to read music, use proper fingering technique, and develop their own style (all par for the course with piano lessons)~

BUT ALSO

~The theory needed to WRITE THEIR OWN MUSIC, playing music BY EAR, and how to play ANY SONG THEY DESIRE, even if it’s some obscure song only they’ve heard of, with no sheet music to be found! (that happens quite often actually)~

Most teachers won’t teach these things and haven’t even extensively learned such topics themselves. But I’ve spent years obsessing over them for my own growth, and I love sharing my knowledge with your kids.

Try this game I designed specifically for my piano students. I hope you know your notes!

PRE-&-POST PANDEMIC LESSONS

When we can meet in person, your kids will create their own pop songs using my mini studio, with access to (literally) HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF SOUNDS. Here are some videos of my students doing just that. (I’ve got hundreds of these videos on my channel by the way)

ZOOM LESSONS

Things are a little trickier online, but that’s not going to stop us from making sure your kid gets the best piano lesson experience possible. I have a digital keyboard that I connect to my computer, and an app that shows the notes I’m playing in a visualizer, making it SUPER EASY for your kid to see what I’m playing.

Since I feel like a little things are suffering a little in the fun category when it comes to Zoom, I’ve also started crafting DIGITAL GAMES for your kid to play, tailor made to help your kid reinforce the concepts we discuss. These games work on ANY DEVICE, just like the one I made above in this page. Try it out!

MY MUSIC

As for my own music, here’s some of the music I’ve written — whoa — more than 7 years ago! My writing and playing skills have improved since then but I’ve been putting so much of my students’ stuff up there that I forget about my own! Expect to see more stuff here soon!
